Monava S.p.A. offers the possibility to load goods from China both in FCL (full containers load = complete containers) and LCL (less than container load = groupage) modes.

 

Compared to shipping BY SEA from locations in northern China (example: Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao) it allows for a faster transit time of about 7/10 days.

Import services by train

Monava S.p.A. offers the possibility to load goods from China both in FCL (full containers load = complete containers) and LCL (less than container load = groupage) modes.

 

Compared to shipping BY SEA from locations in northern China (example: Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao) it allows for a faster transit time of about 7/10 days.

Full container (FCL):

FCL (Full Container Load) shipping means that you pay for the shipment of an entire 40 ‘/ 40hc container (20’ containers not available for the BY TRAIN service)

Importing an entire container of goods guarantees you the cheapest possible price (per cubic meter of imported goods)
It also allows you to optimize the packaging and arrangement of goods in order to make the most of the container space
This is a relatively safe and fast method as you will not have to share the container with other importers

If you intend to import goods for less than 15-20 cubic meters (which is the volume needed to fill at least 50-70% of a 20-foot container), renting an entire container is not cost effective. In this case it is better to share a container with other small importers who are in the same situation as you

Full container (FCL):

FCL (Full Container Load) shipping means that you pay for the shipment of an entire 40 ‘/ 40hc container (20’ containers not available for the BY TRAIN service)

Groupage (LCL):

LCL (Less than Container Load) or groupage shipping means that the container will be shared by multiple importers who intend to ship their goods to the same port of destination.
This shipping method may be of interest to you only if the volume of goods you intend to import is less than that needed to fill at least 50-70% of a 40 ‘/ 40hc container.

It offers you an excellent compromise if the quantity of goods you intend to import is too bulky to be shipped “by air” but insufficient to justify the rental price of an entire container (FCL)

The price per cubic meter of imported goods will be higher than what you would pay for an FCL shipment. In fact, if you think you can fill at least half a container, we still recommend the FCL mode because the price will be the same
